Tiananmén, Gate of Heavenly Peace by Mads Pedersen

On the north end of Tiananmen Square lies Tiananmén (Gate of Heavenly Peace). The Gate structure was erected in the 15th century and has since been the place where various Chinese rulers have adressed crowds assembled on the square. On October 1st 1949 Mao proclaimed the People's Republic of China from this place.
