This is the entrance to the common room. The smaller kids would gather here one morning a week to sing together. On the left is a staircase to the basement. During World War 2 it doubled as bomb shelters. When I was in school it was used for storage and housed the school "cinema" where we would go to see movies - most of them with some kind of educational content.
