SIGGRAPH, which is the world's largest marketplace of computer graphics and interactive techniques, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. SIGGRAPH 2003 is held in San Diego on 27th to 31st if July. Joe Nalven, who is also a contributor to this site, lives in San Diego and has been involved with the local arrangements. He reports that having SIGGRAPH in town has spawned a whole lot of activity in the local community, before during and after the event itself. Artshows, free training sessions, you name it. If you're in or around San Diego you should definately check this out. Drop Joe a line and I'm sure he'll be happy to mail you a list of all the local activities going on.

Burim Myftiu is a fine art, conceptual and travel photographer from Kosova. I'm proud to present a selection of his work. Definately worth a look.

It seems congratulations are in order. The one year anniversary issue of 28MM is now online. My favorites series this time around are Noah Grey's "The Beach", "Three Days in Yosemite" by Charlie Morey and Mark Warren's "Holga Nights". Go check it all out for yourself but be sure to bring along plenty of time.

My garden is a mess. Actually it is not _my_ garden but the owner of the building lets me use it and since he lives somewhere else the garden is not kept. A couple of years back it was all just a big pile of dirt and I thought, why not plant some flowers. So I bought some flower seeds and just threw them on the pile of dirt.
Nothing happened that year. The year after that nothing continued to happen. Last year I was thrilled to see a couple of handfulls of red flowers in my garden. This year it went crazy. Literally hundreds of flowers, all in a beautiful red, now occupy what used to be just a pile of dirt.
Here is what it looks like. This is the kind of gardening I can relate to. No effort, just patience. :-)
